Description
Working with Light - The ABC's of Photography - Learning when to add or take away light. Emphasis on portraiture with available light. Students will shoot inside the studio as well as outside (weather permiting). A model will be available to work with during the class. As a general rule models/performers are usually tipped for their services and gratuities would be appreciated. Tipping is a personal choice and at your discretion.
This class is part of workshop series called the ABC's of Photography. It is an ideal class for anyone new to photography, or reintroducing themselves to photography. It is a hands on with lots of great tutorials & projects to help you learn. The class emphasizes workflow, creative thinking and photography techniques. Recommended equipment: D-SLR or Mirrorless camera and a tripod. Lenses should range from wide angle to telephoto: ex Tamron’s 18-400mm or 28-300mm. Optional equipment: Macro lens, external flash, filters and remote trigger.
Optional: Please bring up to five prints 8x10 or larger of your current photography to share at each session. Pay particular attention to lighting your subject. Please include the metadata of the image. Make the prints at JPI and save 10%.
Fee: $85 - Limited to 6 students and runs about 2.5 hours approximately. Save $50 when you register here for all 4 sessions.

Class duration may vary, somewhat, from the designated time - depending on group size, and group involvement. The class has an active participation part and expects full interaction with each student. The goal is for everyone to learn, create and enjoy.
